'It all started I suppose with my fondness (my husband calls it an insane compulsion) for sea swimming. I'd come across these twisted, agonised sea-worn and windblown branches, bits of bark and treetrunks of enormous varieties of trees thrown up onto the beach from, well, who knows? So there was romance and mystery too. I collected what I could carry but the artist within me was urging me to make use of these unique gifts from the sea. I experimented at first with simple items: picture and mirror frames, a chair but it wasn't too long before I introduced my lifelong passion for horses to the new found love of driftwood. Here is the result of that marriage.'
